If you all of a sudden couldn't find something, it would probably have been taken to the 'swapshop' on Penny Meadow - this was a place where you could 'swap' items that were no longer needed for something that was needed - In Pete's case it was always TOOLS he needed !!!! It really didn't matter to him what he took, record players seem to spring to mind - I forgave him though as he did actually go and buy it back for me. It was during this period (Pete was probably about 16) when he lost his job for whatever reason, he never told our Mum, and she assumed he was going out to work in the morning, like the dutiful soul she was, Mum still put his sandwiches up for him - only until she found out that he was sitting in the 'Sunshine Bar' in Ashton all day with his mates !!!
